MIM Industries, Inc. specializes in the design and manufacturing of custom automated production equipment for companies - primarily in the automotive and related industries -- looking for unique solutions to their problems. In the past, they have developed such equipment to include various types of welding, assembly, material handling, inspection and inline integration. The X-Y Theta Sewing Systems was developed for use in sewing the main panels of side impact airbags. This machine design utilizes the Acroloop ACR2000 motion control system and allows the panels to be joined by moving through the machine in an X-Y and Theta motion. This unique feeding motion duplicated what previously could only be performed manually. With state-of-the-art technology, MIM and Acroloop insure every stitch is formed to a relative feed motion at a high rate of speed.
